In 1992, C.O.D.A. (Combative [originally Combined] Oriental & Defendu Arts) was formed as a vehicle to serve a multitude of purposes. One of the main objectives was an ambition that Peter had held secretly for some time, and would continue to hold until his untimely death in 2003. The intention of bringing to life a system of self defence, control and restraint that would almost exclusively be aimed at the UK Police Forces.

Defendu had proven itself in Shanghai in the 1920’s and 30’s, a time when many Historians acknowledge it was almost certainly the roughest city in the world. Unfortunately, Defendu never made the transition from the Shanghai Municipal Police to the UK Constabularies, and was consigned to history predominantly in the books “Defendu” and the American re–print “Scientific Self Defence”
