Welcome to the website of C.O.D.A.
Conceived originally in 1992, with the prime objective of the preservation of the teaching and training methods and systems of William Ewart Fairbairn and Eric Anthony Sykes, C.O.D.A. is unique in that it is formally recognised by members of W.E.Fairbairn’s family as carrying on Fairbairn’s systems.
Additionally, C.O.D.A. had, in both its Patriarch and Technical Advisor, two members of the original Instructor Cadre, set up by Fairbairn and Sykes to teach groups such as S.O.E. at the STC (Special Training Centre) in Scotland in WW2. We believe no other Combatives group can claim better direct links to the fathers of CQB/CQC.

Please come back and visit our website again as we shall be adding more articles, links and training details on a regular basis.

Some of the most famous books ever written on CQB (Close Quarter Battle) / CQC (Close Quarter Combat), all by William Ewart Fairbairn. Top to bottom; Scientific Self Defence (1931), All In Fighting (1942) and it’s American version Get Tough (1942).
